Thank you for helping us Stuff the Bus in 2025!

Stuff the Bus 2025

This past August, United Way of San Luis Obispo County held our annual Stuff the Bus back-to-school drive, and once again, our community showed up in a big way. Thanks to the generosity of individuals, businesses, and volunteers, we collected $69,073 worth of brand-new school supplies to ensure local students are ready for the year ahead.

Helping Our Families

From backpacks and notebooks to pencils, crayons, and calculators, every donation helps give kids the tools they need to learn and thrive in the classroom. For many families in our county, the cost of back-to-school shopping can be overwhelming, and your support means children can walk into school feeling confident and prepared.

“It is financially hard this year, and it feels so good to not have this pressure of where am I going to get funds to cover my two children’s school expenses. We really depend on this donation, and my kids are so grateful.”

“I had already told my kid that he wouldn’t get a new backpack this year, but here we are and he looks so happy.”

“I just had my hours cut, so getting these school supplies really helped us out. I just want my children to feel like any other classmate, but I can’t always afford it.”

“We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed—whether you donated supplies, made a financial gift, hosted a collection site, or volunteered your time. Together, we are making a real difference in the lives of students and their families, building a stronger, more equitable community for all.”
